We really enjoyed our music session with Jim Elliot today. We learnt about different types of guitar, increased our musical vocabulary and also played some tunes on the boomwhackers! It was great fun!
‘It was helpful to find out more about guitars’ Conna Y6
‘It was brilliant playing the boomwhackers!’ Lennie Y5
We had to plan our artefacts, based on the research we have completed. Next we had to calculate how much clay each pupil could have.
“Ew, I don’t like the feeling of this clay!”
“It’s a bit like Bake Off, isn’t it?!”
“I didn’t realise we could smooth it with our hands!”
I am so proud of all the children this week with their mature approach to learning about Remembrance. They listened carefully and thought of sensible discussion points. We discussed the significance of the poppy and looked at ‘Poppy Fields’ Vincent Van Gogh and the children created their own versions.
Children celebrated the Hindu Festival of Light. They read and acted out the story of Rama and Sita, made diva lama, lanterns, decorations and created their own Diwali dance.
