This week the children have been busy developing their reading skills using non-fiction books and the Internet to research facts about wolves.
They will use their research next week to write their reports about wolves.

We are a council that helps the school community to stay safe online. We meet every half-term.
Welcome back after the Summer holidays!
This term we have got an exciting new topic, ‘Fantasy and Fairy tales’. We will be studying a range of stories through this topic starting with ‘The Three Little Pigs’. This topic will be studied using the ‘Mantle of the Expert’ approach which is linked to the new child-initiated Curriculum.
Important things to remember
Please label all of your child’s clothes – uniform, coats, P.E. kits, book bags, wellies and spare clothes.
Every day: Home readers (yellow) book which will contain your child’s HWB password.
A water bottle, filled with water only.
A piece of fruit as a morning snack.
A coat.
Tuesday: Swimming kit/test spellings.
Thursday: P.E kit/change home readers.
As September is often warm and sunny, please can you ensure your child has sun cream and a sunhat in school as they will be working outside during the day.
Parental Support
Please could you read with your child as regularly as possible and write a comment in their yellow book so that we know that your child has read at home. As children in Reception will carry out spellings and minute maths, we will be changing home readers once a week.
If you are able to help with our swimming sessions on a Tuesday afternoon, please speak to Sarah in the office or Miss Davies (class teacher). This support would be greatly appreciated.
If there is anything you would like to discuss with us, then please feel free to make an appointment at the office. We are always happy to help.
As we are a Healthy School, we encourage the children to bring in a piece of fruit for their morning break. It is also possible to buy bananas and apples from Sarah in the office for 30p. Please note that only fresh fruit or raisins/sultanas can be eaten at break time. We would appreciate if you could name your child’s snack please.
Thank you for your support
Miss Davies and Mrs Wozencraft.
Many thanks for your support with volunteering to help with swimming for Dosbarth Eryr and Dosbarth Gwennol. Without this valued support we would not be able to commit to weekly swimming lessons.
I am also looking for volunteers to help listen to readers in Dosbarth Gwennol.
If you are interested, please see myself, Mrs Fielding for more information.
Thanks
Mrs Fielding
