John Meredith, the Diocese Director of Education has been working with Year 2 and 3 pupils to create animations depicting the story of how Peter was chosen to be a disciple.

UK Parliament Assembly

We were visited by Claire Dare this afternoon. She came in to tell us about how parliament works and we even had a go at passing a law of our own! It was great fun and we were able to learn a lot.

Safer Internet Day 2023!

Year 2 / Dosbarth Gwennol

We celebrated Safer Internet Day by all attending a special assembly led by Mrs Blower. She explained to us the importance of talking about what we do online in order to stay safe.

We identified and gave examples of personal details.  We discussed and sorted details that should be kept private and offline and details that are safe to share online.

We discussed who we could trust if something happened that made us feel sad, worried, uncomfortable or frightened online. We drew pictures of our trusted adults.

We described how we should behave online and in pairs we wrote recipes to help create a kinder internet

Sports Council Club!

Children in Year 2 and 3 were really excited to be chosen by our Sports Council Ambassadors to be involved in their lunchtime sports club. They enjoyed a range of games aimed at improving their balance and co-ordination.

Healthy Snacks

Our healthy schools council have been busy handing out stickers to children who have been eating a healthy snack on Monday and Friday playtimes! Well done to our healthy eaters!

World Religion Day

Following our whole school assembly celebration of World Religion Day, Year 2 children enjoyed focusing on the Hindu Creation story. They discussed the story, the characters and the similarities and differences between the Hindu creation story and the Christian creation story. Some of the children created dances to depict the story, some composed music o accompany the story and others created a collage of Vishnu and Brahma.

Cnoc-y-coed planted trees on the school ground showing a commitment to the sustainability of the planet.

Menter iaith- The history of Wales

Diolch yn fawr i Gruff from Menter iaith for coming in and teaching year 5/6 more about the key historical events of Wales. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning more about their country and enjoyed creating their timeline shields.
