Week beginning 30th November

We’ve been busy thinking about Christmas this week. The children have completed reading comprehensions about various aspects of Christmas. They then ordered the story of the nativity and are now working on writing it as a story. We will have to wait for the final results!

We have had an interesting discussion about celebrating Christmas during COVID, and thought about how other religious celebrations have been cancelled this year. The children worked hard to think about others and how this will have affected the families of different religions.

Mud, Mud everywhere!

The children have been writing some amazing instructions about their magical cloaks and shoes. They had some wonderful ideas. In maths, we have been exploring larger numbers and looking at doubling and halving numbers. You will have all noticed that the mud kitchen is a real hit. Homemade mud and stone soup is definitely our favourite!

Well-being ideas from Year 5 and Year 6

Aderyn Du and Barcud Coch have been sharing their ideas on how to keep healthy and happy during these difficult times.  Why don’t you try out some of their ideas?!  Stay safe, stay positive!

Pupil Voice Session

Today, the children of Barcud Coch used their Flipped Learning to help develop next term’s curriculum. They shared lots of ideas and many of us are excited for next term!

Spring Term Planning

This week we have had a virtual live visit by some little piggy’s and a big bad wolf!

The pigs challenged the children to work together in groups to design and build a strong house that would protect them from the wolf.

This challenge acted as a fantastic stimulus to help the children mind map their ideas about what they would like to learn next term for our topic ‘Houses and Homes’.

Healthy Living

Over the last couple of weeks we have been learning about healthy living. We have been doing lots of research to send to the Skeletons to make sure they know how to keep fit and healthy.

We found out that we need to exercise and eat healthy foods to live a healthy lifestyle.

Here is our amazing display of some of the work we have produced.

Pupil Voice-Curriculum Planning Spring 2021

Today, we were visited by two little pigs and unfortunately the Big Bad Wolf! The pigs needed help to design a strong house that would save them from the wolf.  As next term, our topic is Houses and Homes, we also thought about what we would like to learn about and we mind-mapped our ideas!
