Releasing the Butterflies!

Today we let our five beautiful butterflies go on the school field. They were a little nervous to begin with but once they got used to being outside they soon flew away!

Debate Time!

Today we had a debate. The motion: I propose to build the space hubs to gather intel from other planets and our own.  The proposers gave a strong case for this to happen. The opposers gave a passionate speech why this should not happen. The other speakers shared their ideas and opinions and asked pressing questions. When our speaker ‘Opened to the floor’ the audience also asked some interesting questions and shared their ideas too. This was a great debate about an interesting topic.

Leaf Classification

We spent the afternoon outdoor learning.  We went for a walk and in our groups we carefully picked a selection of interesting leaves.  We used our classification sheet to identify the leaves.

When we came back inside, we created some beautiful pieces of artwork by painting our leaves and printing with them.

Butterfly Symmetry

We listened carefully to the meaning of the word symmetry. Then we discussed the different shapes and made our very own stained-glass window symmetrical butterflies.

Butterfly Symmetry!

The children enjoyed using their reading skills to follow instructions of how to make a symmetrical butterfly.  They chose the shapes that they were going to use and cut them out carefully.
