Pasg Hapus!

Children in Dosbarth Gwennol had a lovely day last day of term. They all came to school in their beautiful Easter bonnets and took part in a parade around the school. The parade ended in the Children’s Centre where Donna treated us to a story and Lee had the tough decision of judging the bonnets.

Well done to all of the children for their wonderful bonnets, they all made a superb effort. The overall winner was Lacey!

After the parade the children went on an egg hunt and collected some chocolatey treats!

I hope you all have a lovely Easter break.

Space!

The children have been discussing their Mantle of the Expert theme for the Summer Term which is Exploration with a focus on Space Exploration. When they returned from playtime they were greeted with an unusual sight…..

$CoMmEntP:

The children listened to part of the story ‘Whatever Next’ which is about a little bear going on a space journey. One of the children volunteered to go up into space. Upon their return, we hot seated them asking them lots of questions about their trip to space. We recorded some of the things that we wanted to find out about space on our mind maps in our Mantle groups.

Open the Book

Children from Dosbarth Gwennol enjoyed joining the Open the Book team to act out the story of ‘The Last Supper’

Ramadan

We marked the start of Ramadan on Wednesday 22nd March by making a range of decorations.

Knighton & District Refugee Support Group

Larry Wright visited our school on 20th March 2023 to lead a collective worship session explaining his role within the Knighton & District Refugee Support Group. We discussed what a ‘refugee’ is and what we can do to help. We found out that Knighton & District Refugee Support Group welcomes and supports people seeking refuge in the UK. Larry continues to lead fortnightly assemblies with a values based focus focusing on offering sanctuary to people facing forced migration.

1940's Tea Party

The children have really enjoyed planning and preparing for their 1940’s themed party. Special thanks to Louise Hardwick for baking with the children, staff and volunteers and parents for supporting the event.
