Our Meadow/Ein Gweirglodd

We have created a meadow as a class. We drew minibeasts that would live in the meadow and thought about the different habitats within the meadow. We are a team of conservationists, that have been asked to find out about and take care of the minibeasts in the meadow.

Rainbow Fish\Pysgoden Enfys

In RE we listened to the story of ‘The Rainbow Fish.’ We talked about how we could be peace makers, through sharing and our kindness.

Dinosaur homework

Pupils in Aderyn Du were given some homework to create a dinosaur made out of recycled materials, and to follow a recipe to make their own dinosaur poo! All the children created some fantastic finished products and enjoyed showing them to the rest of the class.

Dai Woolridge

Spoken Word poet and author Dai Woolridge visited us and shared his creation story with us. It inspired us to write our own poetry and share it with the rest of the school. We also enjoyed a special performance after school for parents and members of the community.

Dai Woolridge!

We were so lucky that the Worship Council has organised for Dai Woolridge to visit us in school! We had great fun working with Dai. He is a spoken word poet, story teller, and children’s author. He shared some of his poems and books with us. We then created our own poems around an animal we liked.

Poetry with Dai Woolridge

Our class enjoyed working with Dai thinking about animals, having being inspired by the Creation story. He was so passionate about his work. One pupil said they’d never met a real poet before!
Pupils wrote their own pieces….here are 2 of their favourites…

Black, cute, white like the moon is bright on a ferocious night, down and far underneath the stars the beast is there a glistening state, sure the beast panda is always there when the sun is bright, the panda stirs out of the stars, his clamping jaws are on the shore. Jack

I spot a frightened frog across the bog, although they may seem weird they should not be feared, hopping along using their humbling song, happy, humbling, hopping creatures is what they are, from frogspawn, to tadpoles, to frogs, they thrive on flies on dark nights. Lola
