Children in Year 1 and 2 have been busy finding out about recyclable materials and sorting them.
St. David's Day
On Monday 1st March we celebrated St. David’s Day. We dressed in national colours and costumes and we enjoyed a range of activities.
We played yard games outside, such as ‘cath, cath, ci’ and ‘Mae Siemon yn dweud’
We made St David’s Day cards to send to members of our family.
We completed activities on Hwb and some mindfulness activities relating to St. David’s Day.
World Book Day!
Dosbarth Eryr and Dosbarth Gwennol have enjoyed celebrating World Book Day by reading the story ‘we’re going on a bear hunt’ by Michael Rossen.
After we read the story, we all went on a bear hunt on the field.
We then thought carefully about the equipment that we would need if we were to go on a bear hunt again. We chose 5 items and we listed them.
We made a story map to help us retell the story. We collected natural materials to help us make our story map.

Reindeer Run!!!!
Well done to all the reindeer that took part in our Reindeer run yesterday. All of the reindeer thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They were especially excited to be greeted by Santa who also ran the course with them! Many thanks to all who sponsored the event and a special thanks to Mrs Blower for organising.
Maths Homework
This weekends Maths Challenge to be completed by Monday 14th December
Triongl/Sgwar
Ask your grown-up to tell you a number up to 20. Place this number of raisins/cereal pieces on your plate. If your grown-up says ‘one more’, can you add one more and say the number you have? If your grown-up says ‘one less’, can you eat one then count the number you have left?
Can you either email some of you number sentences that you made to your class teacher or email a photograph of you completing the activity to your teacher.
Pentagon/Cylch
Add ‘9’, ’19’, and 29 to the following numbers…..27, 36, 48, 52, 68, 72, 83, 94.
Remember to use the strategy that we practised in class. For example, when adding 19, you would add 20 and then take away 1.
So, 34 + 19 you would do 34 + 20 = 54 and then 54-1 = 53.
Therefore, 34 + 19 = 53
Email your number sentences to your class teacher.
Thanks
Maths Homework
Happy Friday! This weekends homework is a Maths worksheet based on the work that the children have done in class this week. Hard copies have been given to all children today and will need to be completed by Monday. Thanks
Spring Term Planning
This week we have had a virtual live visit by some little piggy’s and a big bad wolf!
The pigs challenged the children to work together in groups to design and build a strong house that would protect them from the wolf.
This challenge acted as a fantastic stimulus to help the children mind map their ideas about what they would like to learn next term for our topic ‘Houses and Homes’.
Maths Homework to be completed by Monday 30th November
This weekends Maths Challenge is for your child to practise their times tables.
You will not need to email or upload evidence child learning these tables.
