Discoveries!

The Mantle of the Expert spark for this term is discoveries. The children have discovered a long lost tomb on the side of a mountain in the Valley of the kings.  The discovery is reported to the British Museum who dispatch a team of archaeologists to investigate the discovery, open the tomb and catalogue what’s inside. The children will now take on the role of the archaeologists to find out about Ancient Egypt and the treasures discovered. Here are some of the things that they would like to find out about this term in order to help them achieve this…

Outdoor Learning

This week we have been using a range of resources to make our very own bubble wands. We found that we needed to blow carefully and be close to the string to make sure we made bubbles.

Forest School

Well done to all Year 2 children that took part in our Forest School session today. It was a challenge finding dry fuel in our fire but the children were an absolute credit and worked well as a team to ensure we enjoyed a healthy treat at the end of the session.

Enillwyr Tocynnau Cymraeg

Congratulations to our Welsh badge winners this week. You have been using lots of incidental Welsh inside and outside of the classroom. Da iawn pawb!!

Building Bridges

As part of work on ‘Forgiveness’ we discussed that ‘building bridges’ is important and helps us to resolve friendship issues. We then went on to build physical bridges. We saw great problem solving, resilience and team work.

Cwis Dim Clem

Today our group competed in the semi-final of Cwis Dim Clem. Despite only having 2 members of the team they scored the same as their opponents. Unfortunately we lost on the tie-breaker question. Da iawn merched, ymdrech bendigedig!

Forest School

We had a fabulous Forest School session playing lots of recall games to develop our listening skills and the children thought of lots of interesting rules for our Forest School to ensure that we stay safe and have lots of fun!

Dathliad Cymraeg

The whole school have worked extremely hard to make Dydd Dathliad Cymraeg a huge success. The children’s attitude to the competitions and ’round robin’ of activities have been exceptional. Excellent performances by all classes delivering a Welsh song. Well done to all of our competition winners and all children for participating in the competitions.

DA IAWN PAWB!!!!

Cwis Dim Clem

Our group won the second round and are through to the next round! Llongyfarchiadau!
