Forgiveness

Reception/Year One have been thinking about forgiveness and the need to say sorry. Here, they have drawn pictures to show people damaging our planet, saying sorry, and being forgiven.

DCF!

We worked hard to follow instructions and create some bots on some new Lego coding kits. We found this hard work ,but great perseverance and problem solving skills were demonstrated!

Enillwyr Tocynnau Cymraeg

Congratulations to our Welsh badge winners this week. You have been using lots of incidental Welsh inside and outside of the classroom. Da iawn pawb!!

The Solar System/Gofod

Today, we enjoyed using paper mache to create the eight planets of the solar system. We can’t wait to paint them next week!

Spring play

Here are a few snaps from our Spring play, which our pupils wrote. It was based on George’s Marvellous Medicine with a hint of Matilda. The pupils created their own checklist of everything that needed to be completed in order to answer the question ‘What will it take to be ready for a theatrical performance?’

We think they were definitely ready, we hope you did too…!

Jigsaw

We have been discussing our emotions and relating it to different colours.

Today, we made a colour rainbow and talked about things we can do to help us when we are feeling sad, anxious and angry.

Great teamwork!

Forest School

This term it is Aderyn du’s turn to develop various skills during Forest School sessions. They were much luckier with the weather…!

RE-A Friend to Earth

After listening to the story of Jesus choosing his disciples, we discussed friendship and how we could be a friend to planet Earth. You can see above the children had some great ideas!

Auto Draft

ADERYN DU P4C (Philosophy for Children session)

We enjoyed playing ‘Shuffleswap’ as a warm up game:-

‘Does the universe go on forever?’, ‘Sharks or crocodiles?’, ‘Christmas or birthdays?’, ‘Is it better for a lamb to live a short life and then be eaten, or not live in the first place?’, ‘UK or Australia?’

We then looked at ‘The Painting We couldn’t Ignore’ (‘An experiment on a bird in the air pump’) and discussed how making progress (technology and medicine) can often be controversial- tests and experiments on animals and humans.

School Values

Work with Jody, from Stoneglass Windows, has started on our school mosaic, which has been funded by a grant from the Church Mission Fund. Each class created a design based on our school values, and Jody has collated them into one whole-school design. Our value was compassion.
