Story Time

Story Inspiration – click on this link to discover the illustrations.

We’ve done this type of thing before in class. It is a great way to practice our skills learnt in Year 4 and let our creative juices flow! I’m already excited to write one.

Just choose one picture and let your imagination do all the work but just remember everything you know that makes a good story. Take inspiration from the great authors such as David Walliams, J K Rowling, Roald Dahl, Micheal Morpurgo and many more…

I look forward to reading them!

Word Aware

Word Aware challenge of the week: Create a 9 letter cube with a 9 letter word. Work out how many words you can make from it and then test your parents/carers! Can they guess the word and get as many words as you?

Good luck!

One Note

Hi everyone!

I have created a one note filing system for the children to upload their work onto. Each individual child will have been sent a link via their hwb email address which can be found in Office 365 on Hwb under outlook. I am happy to feedback on anything you have done!

Just a reminder that all children or adults can contact me on my email address: EdwardsS490@Hwbmail.net

I am checking it regularly so will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Miss Edwards.

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

We have thoroughly enjoyed reading The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. Although the ending was really sad, we were all really enthusiastic about discovering why something like this had happened. We had a great discussion, and as the Holocaust was something we wanted to find out more about, we researched lots of information on a website.

To make our story even better, we’ve been learning how to use show not tell sentences and using loads of impressive adjectives to describe the different settings.
