Our thanks to Knighton Fire Service that visited us today so we could learn about their fire engine. They told us all about the equipment on their engine and how they use it to rescue people, cars and animals in emergencies. We loved it! Diolch!
The E-Safety Council enjoyed feeding back to Mrs Spencer about Safer Internet Day 2024. We shared the focus of the day, changes online, and spoke about our whole school assembly and activities classes had carried out over the course of the day.
Jim and Rob from Powys Road Safety visited us today to introduce the Kerbcraft scheme.
Kerbcraft is a practical child pedestrian training scheme designed to teach pedestrian skills to 5 to 7 year olds, by means of practical road-side training rather than teaching in the classroom.
Kerbcraft is built around teaching three skills: choosing safe places and routes; crossing safely at parked cars and crossing safely near junctions.
After half term, the children will be taught in the road environment near the school, in pairs or groups of three children, by trained volunteers.
Year 3 enjoyed their forest school session. They displayed fantastic skills of resilience, perseverance and worked well together as a team.
We have enjoyed a ‘PE with Joe Wicks’ today! We found out that it is important to always do a warm up and we concentrated hard to carry out the exercises. We were very hot and tired afterwards but had lots of FUN!!
Roedd hi’n oer iawn, ond cawson ni hwyl! It was very cold but we had fun!
We collected an interesting leaf and took it to the outdoor classroom where we drew around it as carefully as we could. Afterwards we matched the leaves with their outlines.
Roedd e’n blasus ac roedd pawb yn hapus! It was delicious and everyone was happy! Diolch i’r cogyddesau, thank you to Jane, Emma and Claire!
The children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring a range of musical instruments with Jim this afternoon. Jim was very impressed with the knowledge the children demonstrated throughout and how well they shared the musical instruments with one another. ARBENNIG PAWB!!
Over the past few weeks, we have enjoyed some sessions with Chris Andrew from Project Touchline learning about the key value of respect and how that is represented in sports in particular rugby. We also created some pieces of Artwork representing what we have learnt throughout the project.
