Weekly update!

Good morning everyone!

I hope you are all okay and staying safe.  Thank you to all of you that have been in touch via direct email or on our Microsoft Teams group email.  Some of you have sent me pictures of the work you’ve been completing which is fab!  Please make sure that you keep in touch with each other and me during this difficult time.  As well as sharing/discussing work that you’ve completed you can also send jokes or share ideas for things that you can do at home/in the garden to stop people from getting a bit fed up during lockdown.

Take care and keep smiling!

Mrs Rimmer

World Book Day 2020

We have had a fabulous morning taking part in a variety of activities to celebrate World Book Day!

We took part in a shared reading session in our ‘family’ groups, made magical maps, created a fictional character with interesting traits for a magic/mystery story, made up animal stories and made origami whales!

Sporting news!

Sports council have been busy encouraging pupils to get active and it’s certainly paid off!

Lots of Ks2 children have participated in the cluster cross country events that have been held so far this term (see more photos on our ‘Sports’ page in ‘Extra-curricular’).  The children really are working hard on their fitness!

Year 3 children participated in a cluster ‘ball skills’ session over at Presteigne on Tuesday 4th February and had a fantastic time!

Year 1 and 2 have just begun some cricket ‘taster’ sessions in school and are thoroughly enjoying learning some new skills!

We are hoping to organise some tennis/hockey skills sessions for Year 4 children later on in the term.

In our next Sports Council meeting we will be analysing the results from the questionnaire that we prepared and gave out to children in Ks2 about  sport/fitness  in and out of school.

Cross Country at Presteigne!

On Thursday 13th February 61 children from KS2 took part in the cluster cross country event at Presteigne!  We were able to transport them all thanks to our amazing parents, grandparents and staff members- diolch yn fawr!

The children showed grit and determination when faced with a challenging course and very muddy conditions.  We are very proud of them all!

Our next cross country event will be at Radnor Valley Primary on Thursday 5th March where we have 72 KS2 children taking part!

Dathliad in Aderyn Du!

We thoroughly enjoyed our ‘Dathliad’ day!  We sang Welsh songs, recited/translated Hedd Wyn poetry, played Welsh games on the playground and designed our own celtic patterns!  We then took part in our school Eisteddfod in the afternoon!

Safer Internet Day

We completed activities for ‘Safer Internet Day’ and P.C. Ainsworth came into school to talk to us about how to stay safe online.

We drew and described our ‘online identity’.

Christmas Entrepreneur Fayre!

Aderyn Du have been thoroughly enjoying making some fantastic things to sell at our Christmas Fayre on Friday 6th December, 2pm!  All welcome!
