I can already see so many of you enjoying making Salt dough, so why not try to make some Easter Eggs over the Easter Holidays?
Have an enjoyable Easter Holiday and stay safe and well.

I always look forward to reading my emails every morning to see what you have all been doing. I have received some amazing photographs of the hard work, and some of you have been very busy bees.
Keep up the amazing work everyone! Continue to send me lovely emails and I will reply ASAP.
Miss Davies
Here are a selection of word mats that we use throughout our writing activities.
I would expect the children to try and find the word they want on the mat to write it down. Firstly, I would ask the children to say the word they want, then ask them to sound it out (assist if needed). Then, I would usually point to the column that the word is in and ask the children to find that word (continually sounding it out with the child as they are looking for it).
We are currently using Phase 2 and Phase 3 words in our ‘everyday’ writing with the use of the 100 High Frequency Words too.
Tricky words are words that can not be sounded out easily. Therefore, the children know that we have to ‘train our brain’ to learn and say them.
Activity; Can you use these word mats to write me a recount of what you have been doing over the last week? Maybe decide upon your favourite activity you have done. Finish it off with a lovely picture too. You can send me these via email or on our Foundation Phase Facebook Page. I look forward to seeing and reading them over the next few days.
I am blown away with all the work that is being done and I can see some of you are enjoying using Hwb. If you have saved a piece of work in Hwb, I have been able to have a look at it and leave you a comment. You should find a speech bubble on your work with a 1 on. Click on the speech bubble and read my message!
Take a look on our closed Facebook page (Foundation Phase Page) for the fun filled activity I have shared.
You could do this activity with initial sounds, pictures, words and even numbers. You can find the ‘Letters and Sounds Flashacrds’ on twinkl, starting with Phase 2. There are lots of different phases available, but our children should know all of Phase 2 and nearly all of Phase 3.
Alternatively, you could improvise and make your own Flashacrds.
Be imaginative and have lots of fun. Let me know how you get on.
Diolch, Miss Davies.
