How Knighton has changed!

This week Mrs Davies, Mrs Blower’s mum, has been into class to talk to us about how Knighton has changed since she was a little girl.  She showed us some old photos, including the old primary school that used to be where the Offa’s Dyke Centre is now.

Eco Church

Unfortunately, we were unable to walk to the Church this afternoon due to the weather. However, Reverent Petra and  Helen very kindly came into class to discuss a Bug Hotel and what it will be used for.

Over the next few weeks, we will be collecting all of the resources we need to make the Bug Hotel.

We are all very excited to be making a Bug Hotel for the St Edwards Churchyard.

Knighton in the past

Many thanks to Mrs Davies for coming into talk to us today about how Knighton has changed over the years. She talked about what Knighton was like in the past, the new roads that have been built and how shops have changed.

We listened carefully and asked Mrs Davies questions.

Making Bird Feeders. Tweet Tweet!!

We have made some bird feeders to make sure all of the birds have something to eat over this cold month. We have hung the bird feeders in the Quad, so we are all able to watch the birds enjoy their food.

Feeding the birds!

The pigeon from New York is worried about his relatives in Wales.  He has heard that it is Winter and he is worried that they won’t have enough food to eat.  He needed our help to make bird feeders to hang outside so that his Welsh friends and relatives would have enough food to eat.

We used our reading skills to read and follow instructions to make our bird feeders and we have hung them outside in the playground.

A visit from Santa!

We were delighted that Santa dropped in and visited us yesterday for our Christmas party.  We enjoyed chatting to him about Christmas and he commented on our exceptional manners and our excellent behaviour!

Christmas Fun!!

We have been very busy making lots of Christmas craft this week, but we are very excited to be bringing these home today. They look very yummy.

When we were making these cakes, we did a big stir and made a Christmas Wish!

Christmas Party!

We had a wonderful Christmas party. We played lots of party games and danced to Christmas music. We also had a surprise visit from a man in red!

Christmas Party

All of the children in the Foundation Phase have had a very enjoyable afternoon at our Christmas party, with a special visit from Father Christmas too!
