The class have been looking into ‘Plastic Seas’ and ‘Clothing deserts’ this week. They have been thinking about why these are such serious situations and how we might reduce the pollution happening. They held group think tank discussions to share their findings.
Everyone had a great time investigating: levers, pulleys, air resistance, water resistance and catapults in this hands on science afternoon!
We had a great time learning about cells through dance with the Impelo dance group.

We made parachutes then dropped them from a height. We saw how different types of parachutes effected the time it took to land.
We had a brilliant time at the dance workshop, throwing some funky moves!
On Monday 7th of March, in science, we thought about how to carry out a fair test. We discussed the variables which we needed to keep the same and one we would change. Our investigation was, ‘Does the weight of the spinner effect the time it takes to drop?’ Here we are investigating!
On Friday 4th of March we celebrated Saint David’s day as well as our school’s Eisteddfod by making daffodils using a lovely but tricky paper folding technique. The final product was really affective.
Y6 enjoyed a visit from Phil and Sophie, from Knighton Youth Service on Thursday 17th February. Many Y6 children have already been to Youth Club at The Comm on a Wednesday evening, 6.30pm-8.30pm and taken part in lots of fun activities!
