Council Meeting

  • We were joined by John Meredith in today’s Worship Council Meetinbg to discuss Expressive Art in RVE. Some of the ideas discussed were about how we could bring more Expressive Arts into RVE.  Mr Meredith showed us some of his artwork and we thought we could adopt something similar by producing collages depicting each of our values. We also discussed:
  • Prayer species in our school / Worship Displays
  • Mirrors in the class room
  • Target display boards asking ‘how are we special’
  • Word Art for each value
  • Our creation artwork based on Dai Woolridge Spoken Word.
  • Making a labyrinth
  • Easter Assembly – rehearsals next week in JF’s room

Easter Competition

Forest School

We have been back outside completing some Forest School sessions. This time it was about following the lead of the learners and seeing what they remembered from last time. Everyone remembered the Forest School rules, and the rules around using tools (a knife this time) were also remembered and demonstrated. Den building was a big hit, they used the pegs created by the knives to hold down the tarpaulin and looked at how to tie some different knots.

What is special about our world?

In RVE we discussed the meaning of the word ‘create’ and we became ‘creators’. We created artwork using natural resources that we felt was wonderful. We talked about our creations and how being outside makes us feel.

Arlo “I feel happy and calm”

Alba “Nature is my happy place”

Corey “I like being outdoors looking at butterflies”

Bluebell “Nature makes me feel free”

Lola “I like taking care of things and helping them to grow”

Elin “Being outside makes me feel peaceful with the birds singing and tweeting”

STEM workshop

Today we were visited by Lucy and Jack from RAF Cosford for a stem workshop. We discussed the forces at play during rocket flights then created models before launching them. We had a winning team for their design and a winning team for the distance their rocket travelled.

The second session involved Lego SPIKE prime, which is always a firm favourite with our pupils.

Reading Buddies

What a lovely way to end the term! Year Five buddied up with dosbarth Eryr to read stories in the sunshine. Thank you Year Five!
