We watched a live lesson from Giglets, looking at the story ‘The Magic Paintbrush’. We then went outside in the sunshine and shared some of our books with younger children in the school!

What a fantastic time we had celebrating World Book Day. We took part in a book walk and role-played the story of the ‘Gruffalo’, had a book picnic outside while eating our snacks and had a Gruffalo treasure hunt in the quad.

Finding some specks
As part of our Mantle focussing on Horton hears a Who, we ventured outside to find our own specks that could possibly have its own Who-ville! We used our iPad skills to take pictures zooming into the speck as much as possible.
Poetry
Today it was our turn to work with Cheryl. We thought about who we are, what makes us us. Then we explored cinquain poems and the rules around them. We worked together to write a class cinquain about Refuge.
Finally we explored the idea of sanctuary…how we offer it when someone needs refuge.
Mindfulness mandala drawing and creativity and some baking with Y4 and Y6- As part of our RVE work on Buddhism this half term! We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and the biscuits were very tasty!
Circus Skills with Peter Duncan
We enjoyed a super Circus Skills session yesterday with Peter – great development of fine and gross motor skills, thinking and problems solving skills. Well done to all of of our resilient learners who persevered and kept trying! Da iawn!
Aharsi: The Bengal Tiger
We celebrated International Mother Tongue Day by joining other schools in Powys for a Live event retelling the story of ‘Aharsi: The Bengal Tiger’. Pupils enjoyed listening and joining in with the story and developing their language skills. They listened carefully and were able to answer lots of questions about the story. Da iawn Pawb!
