Maths Enrichment Day

Our Maths enrichment Day today had an Eco theme.  Our day started with a litter pick around the school grounds.

We then used HWB to record the data from the litter pick.

Our next activity involved us sorting recyclable materials is a variety of ways.

Drama for learning

We have created freeze-frames with titles as a stimulus for conversation before creating diary entries and background art, ready for the exhibit.

Drovers

Our mantle for this term is to be museum curators, making an exhibit about the drovers, who walked the local land hundreds of years ago to take animals to markets.

This is the checklist of items the children think they need for the exhibit:

Creation Collages

We looked at various pieces of artwork depicting the story of Creation.  Here are a few of our collages….

Mantle of the Expert

We were commissioned by Jack to create a map for his Grandma.  He wanted our map to use a key, be easy to follow and include key features.  Here are our maps.

Library Visit

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk to the library last week.  We listened carefully to Mrs Morris read us ‘Handa’s Surprise’ as part of our work on human rights.  After the story, we were treated to a drink and a snack in the Community Centre

Beanstalk Building!

This afternoon, we had great fun building a beanstalk that was longer than all of us! The children showed great building skills and wonderful engagement in the task.
