Healthy schools council planned a fruit café, to encourage learners to try some new fruits. We prepared the fruit and invited Reception and year 1 to come at break time. Criw Cymraeg helped us with using our Welsh language to ask for the fruit. We can’t wait for the next fruit cafe!
In order for the lighthouse to flash the correct number of times, we needed to put the correct number of objects in each hoop. We used our counting skills and did a great job. Arbennig Pawb!
As we are learning about light, we went outside to explore our shadows. We discussed where the light came from, where our shadows were, and what happened to our shadows when we moved.
Diolch to Friends of School, Tesco and The Blakemore Foundation for their contributions towards the school trip for our Year 6 pupils. Everyone had a great time!
After reading the story ‘Zog,’ we enjoyed a variety of different Zog related activities. One of which was Madam Dragon’s School for Dragons. Here we learned to breath fire, roar, fly, rescue and capture. All the dragons earned their gold stars! Arbennig pawb!
For Internet Safety Day, Year 3 explored how to use technology responsibly, with a particular focus on understanding what is appropriate and inappropriate to use AI for. The children took part in thoughtful discussions about staying safe online, making sensible choices, and recognising when to ask an adult for help.
We also watched a BBC Live Lesson, which helped the children learn more about how AI works and how it can be used safely. Afterwards, the class began thinking about how they might design their own simple chatbot, considering what helpful and safe responses it should give.
This week, Year 3 have been taking part in a range of activities to support and celebrate Wellbeing Week. The children have enjoyed creating their own clay hearts, carefully shaping and decorating them to represent kindness, calmness, and the things that make them feel happy.
They also made “wellbeing clouds,” each filled with positive words and phrases about themselves. This activity encouraged the children to think about their strengths, celebrate what makes them unique, and share uplifting messages with their classmates.
