For Internet Safety Day, Year 3 explored how to use technology responsibly, with a particular focus on understanding what is appropriate and inappropriate to use AI for. The children took part in thoughtful discussions about staying safe online, making sensible choices, and recognising when to ask an adult for help.
We also watched a BBC Live Lesson, which helped the children learn more about how AI works and how it can be used safely. Afterwards, the class began thinking about how they might design their own simple chatbot, considering what helpful and safe responses it should give.

This week, Year 3 have been taking part in a range of activities to support and celebrate Wellbeing Week. The children have enjoyed creating their own clay hearts, carefully shaping and decorating them to represent kindness, calmness, and the things that make them feel happy.
They also made โwellbeing clouds,โ each filled with positive words and phrases about themselves. This activity encouraged the children to think about their strengths, celebrate what makes them unique, and share uplifting messages with their classmates.

We were delighted to welcome Archdeacon Alan from the Brecon & Swansea Diocese to our school this week. During his visit, Archdeacon Alan spent time meeting members of staff and our Worship Council, and he was incredibly impressed by their enthusiasm and dedication. His encouragement and affirmation were truly uplifting for everyone involved.

We have been developing the childrenโs physical literacy through a range of parachute games that encourage movement, coordination, and teamwork. The children have been running, jumping, stretching, and working together to create waves, lift the parachute high, and quickly swap places underneath it. They have been practising balance and spatial awareness while moving in sync with their peers, listening carefully to instructions, and cooperating to keep the parachute moving smoothly. These sessions have been energetic, inclusive, and highly engaging, giving the children plenty of opportunities to build confidence, strengthen their gross motor skills, and enjoy being active through playful, imaginative activities.

We enjoyed our trip to The Judgeโs Lodging in Presteigne. We tested and made beds for comfort, explored private apartments, and even pumped water in the Victorian kitchen. We dived into the โupstairs, downstairsโ lifestyle by discovering traditional games and toys scattered throughout the house. We experienced the vast, echoing courtroom and we stood in the very spot where historic trialsโsuch as that of local duck thief William Morgan once took place.
