Pentabus part 3!

We listened to the story of a young boy who had to leave his home.
Ydych chi’n gallu dyfalu beth oedd y geiriau pwysig? Can you guess what the important words were in the story? We had to create an image for them.

Our Meadow/Ein Gweirglodd

We have created a meadow as a class. We drew minibeasts that would live in the meadow and thought about the different habitats within the meadow. We are a team of conservationists, that have been asked to find out about and take care of the minibeasts in the meadow.

Freeze framing

We looked at a photo of some refugees. We made the same pose they were making in the photo. We held this pose. Then we thought about what they might be thinking and what they might say in the same situation.

Pentabus; part 2!

This week we thought about home; what is it? We had to consider the 5 senses when thinking about home. We then gave a word to describe home….calm, happy, relaxed, like I can do whatever I want, entertained, sleepy…!

Pentabus project

We are working with Andrew, from Pentabus, on a project which has been part-funded by the Knighton and District Refugee Support Group.

We started by considering how all of our experiences are different.

Knighton & District Refugee Support Group

Larry Wright visited our school on 20th March 2023 to lead a collective worship session explaining his role within the Knighton & District Refugee Support Group. We discussed what a ‘refugee’ is and what we can do to help. We found out that Knighton & District Refugee Support Group welcomes and supports people seeking refuge in the UK. Larry continues to lead fortnightly assemblies with a values based focus focusing on offering sanctuary to people facing forced migration.

Pyjama Drama

We enjoyed another great Pyjama session last week with Louise. We created a story about being evacuee children and we thought carefully about some of the games that they would have played.

Our Evacuee Assembly

We enjoyed dressing up and celebrating all of the fantastic work that we have done this term relating to our Mantle of the Expert theme of Journeys.

We enjoyed welcoming parents back into class to look at our work.
