We enjoyed spending a lovely afternoon at St. Edward’s Church being ‘History Detectives’. We investigated and recorded data from the headstones and we even had the opportunity to look at some of the church records from over 300 years ago!
Cardiff trip _ Trip Caerdydd
Aethon ni i Gaerdydd. Aethon ni i Big Pit, St. Fagan’s, ar y speedboat, i’r Senedd, bowlio-deg, Techniquest ac Aberfan Memorial Garden.
We learned about the history of Wales. Some of us stayed away from home for the first time. We had to organise ourselves and our belongings. We had to share a room with other people. We persevered even when something was tough or tiring. Some of us had to be brave.
Caswon ni lawer o hwyl. We had lots of fun and the behaviour of our pupils was excellent!
A huge ‘thank you’ goes to each of the following for their generous donations: the Blakemore Foundation for their contribution towards our visit to Techniquest, to the Senedd for a grant towards our travel costs and to our Friends of School committee who enabled us to enjoy the speedboat! Diolch yn fawr iawn!

ADERYN DU P4C (Philosophy for Children session)
We enjoyed playing โShuffleswapโ as a warm up game:-
โDoes the universe go on forever?โ, โSharks or crocodiles?โ, โChristmas or birthdays?โ, โIs it better for a lamb to live a short life and then be eaten, or not live in the first place?โ, โUK or Australia?โ
We then looked at โThe Painting We couldnโt Ignoreโ (โAn experiment on a bird in the air pumpโ) and discussed how making progress (technology and medicine) can often be controversial- tests and experiments on animals and humans.
Frindiau'r Byd
In groups, we have been thinking about creation stories from different religions and what they might teach us. We thought of things that are important to our planet and we diamond ranked them. We then looked at the idea of stewardship and the responsibility that we all have in looking after our world. We also thought of things that we could do to care for our planet.
Pentabus Day
Throughout the day we thought a lot about keep sakes and how refugee children take these with them when having to leave their homes. We thought about the journeys refugees have to make and how they might feel when they arrive in a new country. By the end of the day we had created a performance to share with our parents during our class assembly.
