Shelter building

In Fun Club we have been learning enjoying building some shelters in the Forest School area.

Hello Yellow Well-being

We marked world mental health day by wearing yellow and enjoying a variety of activities to improve our well being. We went rode bikes, played in the quad and we created some Andy Goldsworthy inspired artwork.

Hello Yellow!/Hello Melyn!

Today, we planned activities to make us smile and feel happy as part of Hello Yellow where we are thinking of children’s mental Health. Baking and fresh air with our friends!

Hello Yellow

A day to show young people they are not alone with their mental health, so we spent the day doing things that boost our well-being!
We started with our class assembly (which did give some a nervous feeling) and then parents joined us in class to sit with their child and look at what they have achieved so far this term.

Pupils then spent some time watching videos of themselves from when they were younger. After break we had a games sessionโ€ฆUNO, Twister, Jenga, Dobble or colouring in. Quality time with friends, away from screens! Lunch was followed by paining and some games outside!

Boomwhackers

Children in year 2 have been enjoying using the boomwhackers. Boomwhackers canย improve cognitive skills such as focus, concentration, and memory. Keeping track of different notes, patterns, and melodies strengthens the childrens mental agility and enhances their overall cognitive abilities. They are also really good fun and sounded great!

Kerbcraft

Here are some of the children enjoying their Kerbcraft sessions with Powys Road Safety. Many thanks to Sue Davies and Emma Darling for volunteering.

Rhif/Numbers

Our Reception pupils have been busy counting the correct number of objects outside to match their given number. Great counting everyone. Da iawn pawb!

Forest School Finale!

We spent our last morning together in a Forest School session with Toni and Ruth. We tried new activities, which included making Kazoos and eating doughnuts cooked on an open fire. Everyone had a lovely time, it was the perfect way to chill when everyone was feeling so many different emotions.

Forest School!

Year 3 have thoroughly enjoyed their block of Forest School sessions. They have learnt lots of new skills and demonstrated great resilience, perseverance and confidence! Da iawn pawb!
