Years 2, 3 and 4 enjoyed a cinema trip to Newtown yesterday to watch ‘The Cat in the Hat’ by Dr Seuss. For their Mantle of the Expert work this Term they have been commissioned by Dr Seuss to write a play based on one of his stories. The trip was part funded by the Friends of School and part funded by the money that their classes raised for the Christmas Fayre.
The children thoroughly enjoyed designing and making a variety of items to sell at our Christmas Fayre this year. They carefully sourced materials and looked at profit margins to make sure that they did not make a loss! The Fayre was supported brilliantly by families and our community and we managed to make £953.20. Bendigedig pawb! What a fantastic event!
Father Christmas paid a visit and was very impressed with his ‘Narnia’ grotto, through the wardrobe!

We then used LEGO We do to program a sensor which had a windmill attached to it. We put our sensor next to the track and every time the rollercoaster went past the sensor, the windmill would spin.
Year 6 studied a scene depicting a very busy every-day scene. They had to look for rights being enjoyed, being requested and being denied. Our concluding thoughts were that the type of life someone has lived will affect which human rights they consider to be the most important. They also queried whether soldiers were free… .
