We have had an amazing day celebrating Wales. During the morning, we completed lot’s of lovely fun activities and our prelims for the Eisteddfod. This afternoon we all came together to compete within our classes. The children bravely showcased their talents and we all had a fun-filled afternoon.
After a snowy start and our visit to the Church postponed, we were thrilled that Rev. Petra was able to join us in school and lead our Ash Wednesday Collective Worship.
Rev. Petra explained that Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent – six weeks of preparing for Easter. Lent is a fast – a time of eating less well, and praying more. It’s also a time of thinking about all the things that human beings get wrong and a time to reflect on their choices.
We have been finding out about how Knighton has changed over the years. We enjoyed visiting the Knighton Museum this morning to find out more about these changes. We particularly liked looking at the slate boards and the wooden desks that were used in Victorian Schools and the musical instruments from the past.
Well done to all children who took part in our Christmas ‘Eggnog’ challenge. Children were asked to learn a variety of number facts and spellings. These children were the overall winners in their classes.
Well done to all children who attended the Community Carol Singing last night at Knighton Community Centre. The singing was absolutely fantastic. Thank you also to members of staff and parents who attended.
