Support for FSM child in pre-school setting who is still working at gold outcomes in S&L ie he is working at around a year below his chronological age.
He also has difficulty eating unfamiliar foods.
An extra member of staff will work to ensure that the child can fully access the curriculum and give him the best chance of fulfilling his potential.
They will work with him at extra-sensory play with food with the aim of getting him to relax around food.
They will also work on his S&L skills using a range of strategies from the Wellcomm Big Book of Ideas and ELKLAN.
They will support him to work and play with his peers in small-group activities. A play plan will be used to monitor progress. |

I will spend my professional learning grant allocation in the following way/s:
One afternoon undertaking the course; ‘What Matters in Reception’ Maths Tree
Resources. It is a 3xmodule, on-line training course with digital resources.
£150 – course and £96 for Lynn Rowlands for one afternoon cover.

To enhance my own professional development with regards to teaching maths within my class
and then to share new knowledge and ways of working with my colleagues.

I will spend my professional learning grant in the following ways:
- Use non-contact time to complete course work/assignments linked to the
completion of my Level 2 Outdoor Learning Practitioners Course.
- Work with groups of pupils in my class in order to deliver learning linked to my Level
2 Outdoor Learning Practitioners Course.
The impact on my personal professional development/and/the school’s SDP
priorities will be:
- Developing my understanding and skill in delivering the curriculum outdoors
- Developing both mine and the pupils’ understanding of ecosystems around our
school.
- Understanding my understanding of how ecosystems around our school can be used
and developed effectively.
- Developing outdoor learning through the Foundation Phase but also throughout the
school.
- Meeting one of the areas for development in the Foundation Phase as stated in our
previous Estyn report.

Use non-contact time to investigate and understand blended learning, working with MB as part of the digital learning team.

To update staff on blended learning and the use of ICT. To develop collaborative working to prepare the school for a whole-school vision of the new curriculum for Wales.

– Investigating costs for training in different formats for the whole school

priorities will be:

- Establishing a culture of enquiry, innovation and exploration
- 12 Pedagogical Principles: Employing a broad repertoire of teaching approaches
Up-to-date training will also help us to use Mantle of the Expert in a format that fits
blended learning.

I will spend my professional learning grant allocation in the following way/s:
It will cost approximately £192 for 2 afternoons supply cover to allow me to investigate the website ‘Explorify’ more carefully. This website could be used as a home learning tool, develop scientific vocabulary and investigation through ‘Big Question’ style activities. I will look to add examples of its use to the science curriculum map so all teachers will benefit the support this website gives to promote the 12 pedagogical principles.

I will spend my professional learning grant allocation in the following way/s:
Liaising with Jane Davies, (Welsh peripatetic teacher), via Teams, in order to
further develop and embed cross-curricular Welsh within upper KS2 next term.
Cover for one afternoon needed- date to be confirmed for this half term.
The impact on my personal professional development /and/ the school’s SDP
priorities will be:
To continue to improve/develop my Welsh language skills in order to support
and develop the oracy, reading and writing skills of children within Y5/Y6 and
maintain and, where possible, raise standards/attainment levels by the end of
KS2. To encourage ambitious and capable learners, confident in using
incidental Welsh across the curriculum.

Plan to spend Professional Learning Grant of £263 before end of March 2021
We will spend the professional learning grant allocation in the following way:
To work collaboratively as a team to investigate, understand and develop
blended learning for pupils with ALN.
The grant would be used to cover supply cost.
The impact on our personal professional development and the school’s SDP
priorities will be:
We would develop and employ a broad range of blended learning approaches
with pupils with ALN. We would disseminate information and relevant
strategies to school staff. We would aim to promote ambitious and capable
learners.
Small and Rural School Grant 2020/2021 £2080.99
The role of the ALNCo will be a statutory position within schools from January 2021. The council will be facilitating training for ALNCOs, and this funding will be utilised to release our ALNCO to attend these sessions.
It will also be used to ‘buy in’ sessions with a member of our RBSC staff to work with our ALNCo on the new IDP formats.
