KS2 SPORTS DAY

We thoroughly enjoyed our sports afternoon on Wednesday!  The children in Y5 and Y6 organised the event themselves.  The ice-creams were a real treat- thank you to Friends of School for providing the funds to buy them!

INCLUSION IN SPORT

Our Y5 Bronze Sports Ambassadors took part in an online ‘Including Everyone’ Teams training session last half term.  This training looked at inclusion within sport and why it is so important for everyone to be able to participate in sports within school and outside of school.

Mud Run Fun 22/01/21

Y5 and Y6 children that were attending school on Friday thoroughly enjoyed the 1 mile mud run around the field!  A fab way to end a week of hard work.  Well done to all who took part!  Have a lovely weekend.

Sports Ambassadors for Knighton!

Rosie Shaw was voted in as the representative for Sports Council back in the first half of the Autumn term.

Rosie and Seth will be taking part in online ‘Bronze Ambassador’ training on Friday, so that they will be able to promote sport throughout our school!

Keeping fit!

Hi everyone!  I hope that you’ve thoroughly enjoyed your Easter break and enjoyed the lovely weather that we’ve been having.  It’s been fantastic to see all the work that you’ve completed but if you have some photos of you out for a run with family members, playing football in the garden, dancing, cycling, making up gymnastics routines, trying yoga or simply going for a stroll then please can you share those too!  You can email them to me and I will put them on the website!

I have managed to keep up with my running but I really have missed running club with all of you and of course our daily mile!

Stay safe, stay home but stay healthy!

A bit of a rest after a lovely stroll in the woods- diolch Tegan!

Cross Country at Presteigne!

On Thursday 13th February 61 children from KS2 took part in the cluster cross country event at Presteigne!  We were able to transport them all thanks to our amazing parents, grandparents and staff members- diolch yn fawr!

The children showed grit and determination when faced with a challenging course and very muddy conditions.  We are very proud of them all!

Our next cross country event will be at Radnor Valley Primary on Thursday 5th March where we have 72 KS2 children taking part!

Sporting News!

On Tuesday 4th February Y3 children will be taking part in a cluster ‘Ball skills’ event at Presteigne, organised by Jody Owen, Sports Development Officer for the area.  Watch this space for feedback from the children and photos of the event!

On Thursday 6th February children in KS2 will have the opportunity to take part in the first cluster cross country meet of the year!  This time it will be held within the school day and Knighton are hosting the event over at Bryn Y Castell/Football club.  We look forward to lots of the children taking part!
